Department introduction

(1) The department of art management at SHU-TE university is the first of its kind in Taiwan universities. In response to the national culture and art development policy and the development trend of domestic and foreign industries, it is committed to cultivating performing arts, visual arts, and modern management based on humanistic and artistic thinking The Department of Management and Brokering Talents of Interdisciplinary Innovative Thinking in the Arts, Cultural and Creative Industries and other industries.

Industrial Development

Curriculum planning

The curriculum planning of this department is divided into four areas: art professional field, business management field, industrial development field, and policy law field. The professional compulsory courses cover performing arts, visual arts, design, film and television industry, cultural and creative products and other arts professional knowledge, and connect theories and practices of performance, production, planning, marketing, administration, management, etc.; the elective courses are divided into “Performing Arts Management Group” and “Visual Arts Management Group” for students to choose their future development direction.

The professional elective course

The courses in the field of Performing Arts Management include: performance group management, performance art marketing strategy planning, popular performing arts brokerage, theater management, art festival planning and management, technical theater specials … etc.
Courses in the field of Visual Arts Management include: visual arts management, museums and galleries, cultural and marketing marketing strategy planning, event production and management, exhibition planning and management, film marketing strategy planning , etc.

The teaching internship platform

In order to allow the students of this department to fully combine theoretical study and practical operation, the Arts and Culture Center of the School of General Education of the school is used as an internship platform to hold the “Hengshan Arts Festival” and “Music Arts Festival” respectively 25-30 arts and cultural activities, which cover four parts: planning and promotion of art performances, integration of humanities and arts courses, artists entering the campus, and strengthening the function of the resident orchestra. In order to improve students’ practical operation ability, a proposal platform is planned to be added to provide a more complete internship mechanism.

The teaching equipment and environment of the department are fully integrated with theoretical learning and practical operation. Each subject classroom is fully equipped with E-style digital desks; the surgery classrooms are equipped with single-gun projectors, projection screens, professional audio cabinets, etc. The whole school’s wireless network environment allows students to easily connect to the Internet in any corner of the campus as long as they carry laptops with wireless Internet access, enjoying a learning environment in which information has no borders.
