Kelio Art Studio：The supplement between me and Arts Management

Another week , another experience sharing. This weeks sharing session on Monday, April 6, 2020. Today’s topic is the supplement between me and Arts Management. Our teacher invited the Owner-Principal of Kelio Art Studio, Hong Yu Cheng (洪榆橙), to share her experience on Arts Management and her recommendation for the Arts Management student.

Hong Yu Cheng is a postgraduate of Graduate Institute of Arts Administration and Management at the Taipei National University of the Arts. She devoted to the field of arts and literature for many years.Her main employment history include cultural administration, artistic and cultural environment investigation and research, project planning and curating.

In her sharing, she mentioned that her study process of Art. She like drawing since she was young. However, she didn’t join any extra arts class of it . When she was in collage, her major was Public planning. But she prefers to study something related of arts.She earned the postgraduate of Graduate Institute of Arts Administration and Management .Now, she is the student of Doctoral program in Art Creation and Theory at Tainan National University of the Arts..

At the sharing begins, She raised three questions to let the student think. (i) Is there have lowliness or nobleness in the taste of art? (ii) Is that a instinctive reaction when you felt moving for saw a work of art? (iii) Is the palace of art is sacred and nobleness? End of the discuss she explained there is no talent for art, the ability of art is influenced by social and cultural condition. Also, she indicated the \”Own opinion\” is the outcome of education.

Hong was a member of the research and development team and the secretary of the CEO at National Culture and Arts Foundation.In this sharing she referred of her working experience and achievement.Also, she shared the skills what she acquired at this company. For example, She acquired the implement skill of cultural administration and planning.

At the end of sharing, She shared the main values of her, it include (i)To learn about face yourself honestly. (ii) To find yourself is the whole life job. The chair of the department of Arts Management, Ding Yi Zhen (丁亦真), encouraged us that try to become a man of value no matter which industries you being at.
