【STAM Drama & Art：愛，還是礙？Hinder of Love?】

Shu-Te University’s Department of Arts Management first ever premier spring musical theatre production in 2020

[Kaohsiung, Taiwan] One Arts Management courses collaborating with Freshman and Sophomore students involves the learning of backstage works, art administrations, musical performances talent, outfit designs and photography skills showing an ideal balance of arts and management with outstanding abilities for students.

Throughout this course, the students produce their first ever musical theatre production titled as “Hinder of Love?”, under the faculty of arts management and an incredible director Zhang Han Xuan (張漢軒) on 24th of April (Friday) at our school hall L0105. There will be two performances: one starting at 1300, another at 1500.

“Hinder of Love?” is conceptualised on the stories of Hong Kong LGBT-related films by the international film director Wang Jia Wei (王家衛) giving the ideas of film adaptations with musical performances by our producer Ding Yi Zhen (丁亦真）who is also the chairman of the Department of Arts Management as well. The film presents how young generations now express their love through attitudes and values towards someone else.

“LGBT rights in Taiwan is the top searches on Internet in these few years , this production shows that we as an actor explore the connections between human-to-human in our lives by performing with our feelings of being on the stage, explained by Zhuo Yu Zhan （卓裕展）and Lin Bo Yan（林柏諺）. Director Zhang feels great privileged working with students who seek new challenges and opportunities to improve their unique blend of skills and interest in Art fields of expertise. Our sophomore’s form teacher Shi Qiu Zhen（石秋鎮）as well as being an artistic producer who is in charge of our production’s musical instruments, curating and designing to make the performance more attractive to the audience.

Huang Xiao Qiao（黃筱喬 ）and Jiang Xing Fang（江幸芳）from team executive producer manage to handle the problems with great communication in spite of the coronavirus crisis. All the team work so hard to make the performance with completely successful to the end. We will follow the commands that were announced by The Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) to abide by social distancing measures, checking body temperatures, leaving an empty seat next to other person (梅花座）, making sure all the audience are wearing masks.
